Happy Birthday Mummy & BB E!!

My brother and sis-in-law prepared a wonderful birthday present for Bb E & I....
Could see this video repeatedly and still be utterly moved by it. The meltz of the heart and the abundant thanksgiving to God for giving us this child is indescribable.
It's been a year since I received the most precious birthday gift in my life (10.01.12), the birth of Elijah Mok. His birth has brought such joy to both of us. Happy Birthday to both Bb E & myself. Daddy & Mummy love you sweetie.

4 and going strong!

Happy 4th Anniversary Mok!!

We have been married for 4 years!! FOUR!!!
Thanks to parents, we got a day off to spend some time together-just us.
Nothing fanciful or spectacular.. just us enjoying each other's presence.
We did something which we haven done for a long time though... we caught 2 movies in the day!! woots!
Les Miserables and The Hobbits!! Great movies, awesome popcorn and the best company!!! What a treat!

Thank you hubs for being such a great companion and support for these 4 years! Am looking forward to many more great times ahead and lets age with grace together yay!

The number 11!!!!

Our precious boy is turning 1 in 2 weeks time!!!

Mok and I consistently thank God for blessing us with this wonderful son. Thank God for his consistent joy, his endless smiles, his utter cuteness, his mild temperament, his endearing spirit and his healthy developmental growth.
Was reminded just days back about the unconditional love that parents just have for their children. Such unconditional love never fails to leave me in a state of marvel. ;)

Cheeky boy enjoying his time at MacDonalds as Daddy & Mummy were enjoying their Mac breakkie ;p
Bb E is a master crawler. He can crawl really fast and rather skillfully though he does have his slips here and there.
He is able to stand on his own for a couple of seconds and can sometimes take a couple of steps on his own too. The upsetting thing is, we just can't seem to get it videoed as he would somehow be overly conscious about us filming him and just cease to do his tricks.

He is able to identify his nose and toes and some of his toys.

He is increasingly loving his storytime before bed. He would naturally reach for his books after his bath and is slightly more attentive to the reader.

Love this shot! Cousins reading together! How cute!!

The playful side of him is becoming more evident. He loves to play hide and seek and would get all excited if he sees you trying to hide.
Bb E also picked up the action of saying 'yes!'. Think he also realized that adults get really amused and tickled when he does it. He would gladly perform this trick whenever he has the opportunity.

YES!!
Love his cheeky smile here!
Taking a peep into Jiu Mu's bag!! Naughty naughty!!
At 11 months, he is also getting to grasp the meaning of 'give give'. He would extend his hand to you but would often let go of the item before it reaches your hand. There are some items that he would hold on real tight. ie. his favourite stuff like his gerber puff. ;p

Bb E also found his favorite spot in the house - the hall windows. The curtains were down for washing and Elijah was drawn to the beautiful scenary out there! He would stand at the same point at least once or twice a day!

First tries @ 11 months:

1st time sitting in a supermarket trolley seat and he loves it! This one is in Jusco JB ;)

Art & craft time!
Inspiration in progress... what should I paint now? ;p
Here goes...
A great art piece in progress!

Tadaa!!! Nice!!

Attended gorgor Luca's birthday party and Bb E was all dressed up for the event:

Going to Gorgor Luca's party as Do-RAE-Mon!! Aunty Lisa's favorite!! ;p
Taking a pic with the pretty ladies!
Its a feat trying to get the boys to face the camera together! Mission failed!
Handsome boy! ;)
Fun times with the cousins: (Love our 3 musketeers!)

Tts all for now!!

Can't believe our boy is turning one soon!

*Spot the typo error. Decided to leave it as it sounds so glam ;p

Merry Christmas 2012!!! HOhohoo

Merry Christmas everyone!

This year's christmas is exceptionally precious and special for us as we celebrate the birth of Christ together with Bb E. Being a mum now, I could only imagine the pain that God had to put up when He sent His only begotten Son to earth as redemption sacrifice. Thank you God for your precious love poured out onto us.
We had celebrations after celebrations and Bb E was getting really cranky by the 3rd continuous day of partying. Good thing he managed to sleep in later in the morning and woke up at 8plus am for the next 2 days... which means sleeping in for the adults too ;p

Prezzie corner! All ready for X'mas 2012!!
Refusing to pose properly for a nice santa pic -_-
To kick start the celebration, the usual gang met at our place on 23rd Dec for X'mas dinner. The honey baked ham was awesome, probably one of the best I have tried thus far.  Think its from The Butcher's Kitchen.
We had an overwhelming amount of food that day, all thanks to Rachel and Kay Huat who helped with food ordering!
 Great food with great company!
Thanks guys for the friendship!
Bb E receiving his first few X'mas presents! Loving his cards and gift tags..
Thank you Aunty Rachel for the fun phonic bus!  1 of his fav toy for the season...
Thank you Godma for the lovely mickey mouse crocs!
Old Navy's red polo tee from Aunty Su!!
Next up was Christmas Eve celebration with my crazy yet awesome cell! Okay.. we came up with this weird theme for this year's party. After almost 2 hours of serious discussion, we ACTUALLY decided on PJ's night... FOR X"MAS! Not exactly the most glam & appropriate but.... on hindsight.. this is the 1st party that everyone actually came dressed up to the theme! Well done peeps!

It was hilarious! I managed to borrow my mum's PJ which she bought from Cameron Highlands. Apparently her cell gals also bought PJs for phototaking. Is PJs becoming the latest fashion? haha
Any case... let the pictures do the talking...

1st Christmas Eve with our precious son Elijah!
Merry Christmas!!
Gals looking slightly more glam than the guys ;)
Taboo time! The guys look like they came from some nursing home! Lol
Aunty Lisa with Bb E!
The remnants who stayed up till almost 3am playing Wolf..
Still looking good at 3am..
Celebration 3... Christmas day party with my secondary school gals! Party was held at Jac's condo but we ended up using the function room as the group was simply too big! We are expanding fast!!
We couldn't stay long as Bb E was having a meltdown after 3 consecutive nights of celebration.

What a crowd!! Love this picture & the gifts!
The gals and the babes... thanks for the many years of friendship gals!

What comes after all the parties?!!! ......... Time to focus on the presents!!!
Surrounded by the many gifts and love ;)
Drawn to this musical tin that Mok received for his gift exchange
His 1st Carebear from Aunty Cindy!!
Loving the tags again!
Went back to the musical tin after a while.
Could see that it was a tough decision made though ;p

Thank you everyone for the gifts and love!!! Merry Christmas & Jesus loves u ;)

Reaching 10 months already?!!!?!!

Really cannot believe that we have already started to discuss about Bb E's 1 year old birthday. What?! My baby is gonna turn 1 year old in about 2 months time?! How can this be??! Where did the past 10 months go to??!!

After being a mummy, I come to realize that embracing this role entails alot of mixed emotions. On one hand, I am so thankful for the healthy development that Elijah is having, fully enjoying the cuteness and surprise that comes along with each month but also missing the past months and moments that cannot be returned to.

I know I need to blog more, so as to record the significant moments of our darling boy... yet, I have not been as diligent as I should be.

Any case... decided to update a bit more on MONTH 9!!!!! Here goes......

MELBOURNE 12th Oct 2012 to 21st Oct 2012!!

Bb E went for his inaugural flight to Melbourne. This trip definitely deserves a post of its own but haven't load the pictures from the camera so here are some highlights just about the little one.
Overall, I would say that he scored a 8.5/10 for his behavior and adaptability throughout the trip. I was really quite (very) stressed about the flight as I have witnessed babies wailing during take off and landing due to the air pressure. Furthermore, it was a midnight flight and concerns about his interrupted sleep and the implications were also haunting me as the date draws near.
Reality: Bb E did soooooo well!! He was a little cranky during the wait to take off. Partly cos it was so darn stuffy in the cabin and we waited rather long (eternity) before taking off, which means, he needs to be strapped down for the entire duration! Prior to ascend, I gave the milk to him too early and had to stop mid way so as to preserve some for the ascend.. that left me with a very unhappy baby. Thank God for the invention of pacifier and that calmed him for  a while. Bb E slept almost immediately after milk, while we were still seated (too exhausted).
And guess what.... he slept throughout the 7 hours of flight!!! Woots!!
There was this little gal who was crying intermittently throughout the flight and I was very concerned that her cries would awaken Elijah.. but nope... he just slept on all the way till descend!

Sleepy E, waiting to board his first flight!!
Sleepy soundly in his bassinet... woots & PTL!
There was a 3 hours time difference and Elijah managed to adjust to the timing after 2-3 days. He loved the weather and was generally cooperative during the outings.
It was also during this trip that he managed to take his naps in his stroller... thanks to the sun shade add on that I bought from Amazon. It reached in time for the trip! With the shade, it gave him black-out which allowed him to sleep longer (sometimes 2 hours+) and it also blocked out the cold wind when we walked along the streets. Awesome! Think the flight and time difference did make him more sleepy than usual.. he tends to nap more and longer over there.
Only tough part was night time.. He had to sleep with us on the bed most of the time as he would often wake up crying in the wee hours. Attributed it to the unfamiliar surroundings. Sighh... I was awaken 3-4 times every night!!
Overall.. it was a fun family trip. Good that my parents joined us for the trip. They were awesome help. Mum & dad would graciously prepare breakfast for us as we were usually late due to the sleepless nights.. -_-. Will talk more about this trip soon.

Enjoying his car ride to Philip Island!!
With papa at the Shrine of Remembrance...
Loving our ice cream... the famous ice cream at Lygon street! We walked 30mins for this and it was worth it!
Love this shot somehow ;)
Words / sounds
Besides Mama and MumMum(milk), he has started blabbering 'DADADADADADADADA'... we are still wondering if he meant Daddy but we doubt it as he would say it even when Larry is not around.
Adding to blowing of his saliva(which he still loves doing)... he recently learnt to do the 'clark clark' sound with his tongue and lips. No idea how he picked it up but its hilarious when he does it! He would also sing along (in his own language) whenever someone sings to him.
Another favorite sound that he has learnt is the sound'oiii.. or heeiii'. When demanding for attention, he would make this sound real loud... as if he is calling you. Only he can get away with such apparent rudeness ;)

Really hilarious... soon after this, he went on to poo!!

Psychomotor skills
He has mastered the art of crawling really well and is getting faster and adventurous. He loves to crawl out of his room, in search of one of us.
He also loves to pull himself up into a standing position and would let go at times. Think this boy is a risk taker, like papa.
There are glimpses of him being able to stand on his own for a couple of seconds. Tried to take a video of it once but we were too late!
It is getting progressively challenging trying to keep up with his endless energy!! And he is only coming to 10 months! (faints)
He has recently learnt the skill of throwing. He used to hold on to his toy balls really well and firm. Now, he would let go of it almost immediately and would crawl to find or pick up the ball/toy!
He has also learnt to clap along with us and also wave goodbye!!

Favourite activity
Bathing time! Loves the sound of water... he would crawl in excitement to the bathroom whenever he hears us preparing for his bath.
Splashing water and foam all over himself just before bath

Favorite food/drink
MILK!! This boy loves his milk. He would crawl into your lap nearing to bedtime when he sees the milk bottle coming. Simply adorable.
In the morning, when he tends to be more koala bearish to me... milk never fails to distract him into the arms of another!
He is drinking 3 milk feeds now. Morning and tea - 210ml... night b4 bedtime - 240ml.

Weight: 9.9kg!

Height: 170++cm

Health
Overall, am proud to say that Elijah is a healthy boy. Had his first flu symptoms after he came back from Australia. Doctor said that it is a common viral infection among babies his age but he is considered very good as it is his first! Amen! Thank God for good health and strength ;)

Some random shots of him and cousin Joel!

A very proud and strong grandpa!
Love you Moklet!! Muackzzzz!!
