Ordinary times

"Enoch walked with God" Genesis 5:24

For 365 years, or should I say, after 365 years Enoch was still walking with God. What honor to have God declaring that about you after you have finished walking life on this earth that: you have been someone who has been walking with Him all along.
Would God be able to say that of me? ... that's the aim that I want to achieve, yet how difficult at times.
Mister Mok and myself were just discussing last night about how weird we humans can be, after having tasted and experienced the goodness of walking closely with Him, after receiving the strength, joy and sense of purpose that could only come from Him, yet despite experiencing all these, it just seems so "easy" at times for us to draw away from Him.
Oswald Chambers:
The test of a man's religious life and character is not what he does in exceptional moments of life, but what he does in the ordinary times, when there is nothing tremendous or exciting on. The worth of a man is revealed in his attitude to ordinary things...
In learning to walk with God there is always the difficulty of getting into His stride; but when we have got into it, the only characteristic that manifests itself is the life of God.
It takes a long time to get there, but keep at it. Don't give in because the pain is bad just now, got on with it, and before long you will find you have a new vision and a new purpose.

What a timely reminder... just when the pain seems to be getting worse... just when I feel like throwing in the white flag... yet I know that I have the strength to continue on. And I will not just get by this, but I'll overcome it with joy. I know that a new vision and a new purpose lies ahead of me... and as I wait upon the Lord, may I never forget the most important thing thats required of me- complete trust. Total surrender to Him who holds my future in His hands... may I walk in His stride...
