@8.5 mths: Do I hear the word 'MAMA'?!!! ;)

Our darling boy has mastered his crawling skills and he can crawl really fast now. He has a new interest now, which is pulling himself up to a standing position... and he does it pretty well too!! This also means... childproofing alot of stuff!
For example, our coffee table had to make way for a cushioned storage foot stool. We found a good buy at ikea's bargain segment.. it was a display set, black leather cushion footstool which was the exact item we were looking for. The ones at the showroom area were all cloth cushion ones. Original price: $599 and we got it at $399!! Awesome!! Our dear boy absolutely adores this new 'table' and he loves to pull himself up to touch the soft leather cushion!

reading his new zoo book, on his new favorite table ;)
Grabbing onto anything that can hold his weight so he can stand! Pole dancing here ;p
Another development.... we suspect he has began saying his first word... 'MAMA'!! We are still trying to confirm if its just a random sound that he makes or if he really means MAMA. Mok is very confident that he is calling out for me though as he claims that he only makes the sound when he is looking for me. hehe... its so exciting and no words can describe the joy of hearing him calling out this precious word ;) Mok is 'jealous' and determined to get Bb E to call him PAPA! I'm sure it'll be soon!

Me and the little charming fellow...
love the resemblance here!! haha
Went for playdate with Bb Sonia, just before mummy Amy returns to work! Time flies!!!!!!! Aunty JE joined us too but Bb Evan did not grace the event as he is too small. Will see you real soon Evan!!!

Realize only after we left that we are all in the same shade of coral red!! Nice!!!
Tried getting them to take a pict together but alas... think Sonia wasn't in a good mood as she didn't nap well ;(
Bb is fascinated by her little beanie...
Can't keep his hands off her beanie yea;p

It was a nice lunch cum coffee time with Je and amy at Oriole Cafe!! Think outings as such will be lesser with amy going back to work too. But we will definitely try to make it happen again and SOON!!

7-8 months

Time is flying waaaaaay too fast! There are moments when I wished for time to pause, so I can immerse myself in this moment with the kiddo. But alas... time waits for no one and we just got to cherish every possible time and capture the memories as much as we can. Really thank God for the 4 day work week as the extra day with him is way too precious. Have been using the free day to bring him around on mini play dates too.. though he is still too young to 'play'...
Every morning, Mok and myself would be reminded of God's faithfulness and love as we see how He is watching over the little one.

Bb E is getting increasingly adorable and sweet. There will be times when he would demand a hug and then, straighten himself so he can get a good look at you, smile, then proceed on with hug number 2. Awwwww... melts x 3024304034903!!

He is progressing so fast that I am losing count of his milestones!! Here are some for memories sake!!

TEETHING!!
His 2 bottom central incisors decided to find their way out in month 7. During the initial period, we noticed that bb had learnt a new trick, which was to stick out his tongue. We thought he picked it up from someone till we saw 2 white spots at the bottom gum. He was actually playing with the tip of the teeth. Teething period was tough! He would wake up many times at night (due to the pain?) and would sometimes stay awake for straight 2 hours in the wee hours! This crankiness lasted a couple of days and he suddenly just went back to sleeping through the night one day.
The peace was short-lived as soon after, his top 2 front incisors started to emerge, early in month 8. The crankiness returned and this time it is worse than before as the top 2 incisors are really huge! It emerged after a week plus.

An example of him touching his teeth/gum with his tongue. Love how cheeky he looks here ;p

POOOOHING!!
HIs favourite trick for now = POooohing(Take a deep breath and pooooh the air (and saliva) out through your lips. When it first happened, we were so tickled by it. But it soon became irritating as he would poooh during meal times, when his mouth is full and poooh when he is upset, in your face. It became serious to the point that I had to semi-discipline him when he does it during meal times. Pains me to have to discipline him though ... he would stop whatever he was doing, and look at me with those 'PUSS IN BOOTS' eyes... errrkkkk... and I have to 'act firm' while looking at him.

SNACKING
Introduced snacks to him towards the tail-end of month 7. His first snack was pigeon's rice cracker which he kind of enjoy sucking. However, the biscuit tends to stick to his lips as it is rather dry and sticky. Not my favorite snack for now. Second snack was the banana puff from Gerber! My US spree finally arrived. And HE LOVES it!! He can take about 6 puffs at one serving. Hopefully it helps him to learn to chew?

The biscuit looks too big for him..
MEALS
He is taking 3 main meals now and 3 milk-time in between the meals. A typical day's schedule looks like this:
730am: 210ml of milk
930am: Brown rice cereal, fruits (banana, kiwi, apple or avocado) and 90ml to 120ml of milk
1230pm: Brown rice porridge (served with a combination of any 2: tofu, pumpkin, sweet potato, chicken, fish, spinach or brocolli.)
3pm: Snack, if any and 210ml of milk
630pm: Brown rice porridge (served with a combination of any 2: tofu, pumpkin, sweet potato, chicken, fish, spinach or brocolli.)

1ST HAIR CUT!!
We did not shave E's hair when he turn a month old as he had cradle's cap then. We decided to bring him for a trim on 8th Sept 2012 as his sides were getting way too long and were tickling his ears. We went to our usual hair saloon but our hair stylist was not there. I remember telling the hair stylist that I did not want the hair to be too short, so just a slight trim will do. But next thing I knew, she took out a shaver and off went his hair! Think there was a miscommunication somewhere!!$#@... but it didn't turn out that bad. He fact, he looks really cute after the hair shave! Haha..

His long mane.. but I kinda missed it though. He looked really mischievous and cute here.
Smiling sweetly at daddy, totally oblivious of the danger his hair was facing... ;0
Haha.. he looks so stunned here! How apt!
ITS NICE AFTERALL! OUR HANDSOME PRINCE DARLING!!

;)
TANTRUMS!!!
He throws slight tantrums now! SO fast??!?!!?!?! Especially when you take away something that he was playing with... he would cry for quite a while till you distract him or return the item back to him (We are not for the latter though...). He also doesn't enjoy the jumperoo, which he loved previously.. and the play pen. I would have to put in his favorite toy so as to distract him while I'm placing him in. He would coil his legs if he senses that we are putting him into the jumperoo and would tensed his legs and stomach muscles so we can't get him to sit when its the play pen. Babies are so smart! How they know of such tactics?!

ABILITY TO GRIP
I observed that he is able to grip stuff really well. He is also very observant and would sometimes notice the small and fine details. For example, I bought him some coloured balls, in my bid to lure him to stay put in the play pen... well .. succeeded for like a couple of days??.. -_-... any case, he was able to hold n to the balls really well! It's as if there's tape on his hands and the balls just get stuck to his palm! A handball player in the making! - just like daddy! ;)

HANDBALL-Bring it on!!
 CRAWL!!!
My baby can crawl!! He crawled his first crawl - 4 steps in early month 8!! And he is rather sturdy now by mid month 8. which also means, our eyes must be always on him! He is also showing signs of wanting to pull himself up to stand! Though he can't hold his weight yet.

Looking really pleased as he attempts to stand ;)

Enjoying his ride on daddy's shoulder

Time to shape up!

It's been 8 months since I gave birth.... I must confess that my exercise regime did not quite pick up since birth. Well... firstly was breastfeeding, which greatly narrowed available time slots to exercise (especially since I only exercise when there is NO direct sunlight!). Secondly, being sleep deprived, most spare times was utilised to catch up on my beauty sleep. Thirdly, ... ... .... plain lethargy???

Went for a couple of brisk walks and slow jogs, and the jogs were excruciating! Whenever I try to push myself, I could only manage short burst of energy before being forced to slow down in gasps. What has happened to me?!

So... last month, I decided to beat my flesh and to start getting my fitness back. I'm very blessed by Mok's company as they extended their fitness benefits to me! HURRAY! So we booked an appointment to see Christopher from Journey Fitness. After discussing with him about my fitness goals, he suggested for me to be on the weight watchers program and we did a test of my fuel efficiency and also recorded my skin folds-which is a much more accurate method of knowing the fats level under our skin as compared to using the BMI!
I was stressed out to the max!! He started using a marker pen to cross out certain portions on my body, and proceed to use an equipment to pinch the marked portions and tadah!.. add the numbers up and you got your skin fold results! I was rather embarrassed during the skinfold test actually.. with the loose skin from delivery... but Chris was really professional and we were chatting about the sports industry which helped to ease the awkwardness. ;p

In short(shall not share the actual numbers here) .. but the very encouraging Chris and Mok agreed that my skin fold results are not too bad, considering that I just delivered a baby! Hmmmm...

Then came the fuel efficiency test which tells us the heart rate that allows me to burn fats and not carbs. So result says that I should keep between a heart rate of 122-126... which is equivalent to a brisk walk speed.
Seeing is believing! I'm motivated to get back in shape ... wait... to be in a even better shape than before! Have started on exercising at least 3 times a week. Hope to hear good results in 3 months time! Woots!!!

1st National Day... Happy 47th Birthday Singapore!

This year's national day came as a really special one for Mok and I.... we have our dear little fellow joining us in this patriotic celebration!
Hurray to Bb E's very 1st national day celebration!!

All ready to go for his celebration brunch with gorgor Caleb & Bryan!
This year, our usual gang decided to go for a national day theme brunch outing! Due to last min planning, we had a hard time reserving place as the well-known brunch places were all fully booked! Good thing, Oh managed to get us seats at Oriole Cafe & Bar at Somerset 313! It was a really chill place to have brunch and the plus, the coffee was good! I ordered the mint latte and yumz.. it has a really rich after taste. Reasonable price for great food! So blessed to be able to spend this holiday with my best buddies.

The little 3 musketeers also spent their 1st national day together. Bb e received lotsa love, esp from gorgor Caleb. ;)

Just us.. and the waiter behind -_- Love this pict nonetheless!

Loving us in red. ;p

Gorgor Caleb showering Bb e with lotsa passionate love.. hmmm... was that Bb e's 1st kiss?!?!?!?!

Our 3 precious musketeers!
Bb e with uncle Kay Huat.. who happens to be the only one who did not dress to theme!!
Will update with the whole grp pict once I get my hands on it.

Happy 47th Birthday Singapore! Thank you for such a wonderful chillax day!!!

The HALF-year mark!

I'm 6.5 months old!
Each time I think about how much our little boy has grown and developed over these 6 months, I can't help but thank God for blessing us with this precious gift of love. Was reminded one day of how much our Father loves us, and how He must have intended for us to comprehend a little bit more of the depth of his love through parenthood. Every smile and laughter; every cry; his little actions; the sparkle in his eyes especially when he discovered some new tricks... every little things about him never fails to tuck at my heart and I find myself loving him more each day. Believe I speak the same for Mok.

It's been 6 months.. coming 7 actually! A little sad at times when I see him growing so fast, and I find that time is so limited and memories so spare.

5 and 6 months saw the most developmental growth for him:

Flipping over JOYOUSLY

Yes, Bb E is finally beginning to enjoy flipping over. It started with him doing half flips, and he'll start whining due to his hand that will be stuck underneath his tummy. Gradually, he learnt to release his hand and now, he can even do double/triple flips. His favourite sleeping posture is lying on his side... and he totally dislikes sleeping on his tummy.

Oops wrong reading posture baby!

Sitting up

He can sit up for prolonged periods now... my parents would sit him on the bed and he would focus intensely on his toys.

Sitting like a boss ;)
1st signs of sitting up
Hi there cutie pie!!
One of his fav toys, think he loves the colours
27/6/12 His first few seconds of sitting up by himself!

Started on solids

30th June 2012-The day we introduced him to cereal!(Brown rice cereal from Healthy Times)  It was love at first taste!

Loving my cereal!!
Next up was pumpkin puree! Was a little hesitant initially but took to it after 2-3 days. Pumpkin was followed by carrot which he TOTALLY DISLIKE ... any case, we read somewhere that carrot should not be introduced so soon due to high level of nitrate.. so carrot is out of the menu for now. Sweet potato is his next delight. Yesterday, my mum introduced spinach to him. He cried after taking a couple of mouths... but he accepted it much better today! Loving his vegs!!

Pardon my mess..
Mum would now blend actual brown rice with these ingredients and feed him for his lunch and dinner. Yummy yum!
We are hoping to introduce to him fish and maybe chicken soon..

Though it is alot of work preparing the food.. especially for my mum (Thanks mummy for all the hard work!) but it is so exciting seeing him learn to accept new food. ;)

Sleeping pattern

Not much changes for this aspect. Bed time usually at 815pm till 715am, followed by nap till ard 930am/10am, naps 30-45mins during noon time and a 1.5 to 2 hrs nap ard 330pm.

Having some fun b4 bedtime!

Bb E attended his first wedding dinner!
Congrats once again to Jeremy and Faye! It was a beautiful event and the couple sure was basking in joy & love!
Bb E went for his 1st ever wedding dinner at the Mariott Hotel on 28th July 2012. He sure did have a late night that day. Overall he did well... not much fussing so kudos to u darling!!

Love this beautiful family portrait!
