Hello Phuket!!

CAN'T WAIT TO SET FOOT INTO PHUKET!!
Indulge in a few glasses of ice cold cha yen (thai iced milk tea), kafei yen (thai iced coffee), thai food, jap food...etc... Gonna enjoy the sun, the sea, the chill out sessions on the beach, the sea cave canoeing adventure and our non-stop MJ sessions. hohoho..

Guess my crave for such indulgences is magnified due to my last episode of food poisoning (yes again!). I'm just gonna ditch the plain porridge with preserved cai xin and go for my awesome treats in Phuket!!
Soooo.. Phuket here I come!!
Singapore, don't miss me!!

Stirring within

""My food," said Jesus, "is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work.""
Was reminded of John 4:34 today. This verse was my intense heart's cry some years back. Still remember myself praying over this verse time and time again.
Yet somehow, I have allowed the essence of this verse to slip past me for a while.

Can't help but ask God as I feel this verse stirring up within me once again.. "What's my food? What am I supposed to finish? Have I even started / where do I start from?"

Time and time through the years, He would remind me of the vision and dream He had birthed within me since I was in my early teens. The call to serve Him, to offer my life to Him and to proclaim His Good News and love to those across borders. And somehow, I know that this dream would come to pass... though I don't see how it would happen as of now yet.

Now is a training and preparation season for me. Am still bombarded with thoughts like, "God, did I make a wrong move?", "Have you forgotten me?".
Yet, He never fails to assure me of His eyes that are always watching over me, His gaze that has never left me.
I know that God is giving me the opportunity to fulfill and experience what I have always hoped to do and I wanna be faithful and be a blessing in where I am now, till He unveils the next step.

God, let John 4:34 stir within me and help me to press in deeper into your Presence. May I be used as Your vessel, to bring love, compassion and healing to those whom you bring into my path.

Consuming Fire
There must be more than this
O breath of God come breathe within
There must be more than this
Spirit of God we wait for You

Fill us anew we pray
Fill us anew we pray

Consuming fire fan into flame
A passion for Your Name
Spirit of God fall in this place
Lord have Your way
Lord have Your way with us

Stir it up in our hearts Lord
Stir it up in our hearts Lord
Stir it up in our hearts Lord
A passion for Your Name

Bye to Truelight.. =(

It took me a while to come to terms last friday that it was my last cell time in Truelight that day. And I felt sad.... really sad..

Isn't it irritating that we only get to appreciate and realize how good / precious certain peeps or events are to us when we are abt to say goodbye, when things are coming to an end.

To be frank, I have lost count of the many times where I have complained to Mok about how sianz it is to go for cell and the temptation to not go. But I'm proud to say, that I will still go in the end!! This cell is the first cell that I could enjoy the privilege of being a cell member, after such a long while of being a leader. And I must say that it felt great being a member again! Not having to worry abt the cell outcome, not having to prep for cell word, not having to text msg ppl and still having to chase peeps for reply!!... etc etc.. What a privilege!! And it's all coming to an end...

When I agreed to lead cell again, just 1.5 mths ago... I was still fighting it within me. To take up the responsibility of shepherding, to be facilitating cell once again. Can I do it? Do I want to do it? ... I struggled for many months... but God reminded me that it is an even greater privilege to have the opportunity to serve Him and that I have been resting enough. =p
And it's time for me to resume my service once again.

So... I'm changing cell. My comfort is that Mok will be coming with me! It's exciting... when I think of us serving the Lord together in this cell.
Yet, it's also sad... I'm changing family... though I know that the next cell will be a great cell too.. but I can't help but be reluctant to let go of my current family and roots.
Thanks Truelight.. and thanks Gabby for leading us... Will truly miss u guys alot... !! ... Oh man.. I feel like crying now!... so emo...!! arrgghh... haha...

The office summit turned out better than I imagined. Had a great time with my office cell... a real fun bunch!! And my roomate rocks too! The general ambience of Grand Paragon Hotel was rather nice... but I have a super major complain!!! The bedsheet makes me itch!! And some of my colleagues felt itchy too!
My entire head was super itchy the 1st night!! Quite ewwwwie.... was wondering if there were lices on my bed. Thank God all is fine =) The hotel will be in super deep trouble if it's not. =0

Went for my haircut at Yvonne's today and I finally got the courage to cut Bangs!! Haha... and I think it turned out rather alright.. I stressed like 5 times to her not to cut the "tu tu" kind.. and she kindly adhered.
Changing a new hairstyle is a thrilling and scary experience... on one hand, you are eager to try a new look and yet, you can't help but entertain the thought of, "oh no, what if it turns out disastrous? How am I gonna face the world then?!!!"
Am so glad this time turned out well... =)

Side-track: Was just looking at our May 09' HK wedding dinner photos sent by my FIL... just 3 months plus ago and I still had my long hair then. May seemed so long ago... time is seriously passing by real quick. A reminder for us to treasure the time we have, to spend every hour wisely, and to treasure the moments we have with our love ones.

Our HK wedding dinner and my first time meeting Larry's folks. Haha.. all I managed to say that evening was: "Toa jai" and "um sek gong" (pls read in canto tone, thks..)
But it was fun... his relatives were quite humorous and thank God so much for my parents and bro who went with us. They were my constant source of comfort.. and constant English-speaking peeps =p

Some picts from HK!!

The Mok and Chiang family
Larry's paternal relatives.. the uncle on the right is super funny
