"Jesus is there, sitting beside us in the lowest places of our lives.
Are we broken? He was broken like bread, for us.
Are we despised? He was despised and rejected of men.
Do we cry out that we can't take any more? He was a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. Do people betray? He was sold out himself.
Are our tenderest relationships broken? He too loved and was rejected.
Do people turn from us? They hid their faces from Him as from a leper.
Does He decend into all of our "hells"? Yes, he does."
(excerpt from The Case for Faith, Lee Strobel)
"... though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered." (Hebrews 5:8)
"Even as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many." (Matthew 20:28)
"For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." (Philippians 1:21)
And because He lives, I can face tomorrow. A heart filled with gratitude, beyond words.

Lost and Found
Was with mister Mok 2 days back, and I found a $10 note in my pocket. Didn't know how or when did I put a $10 note in, but I was so happy when I found it. Haha... to me, I was $10 richer!! And mister Mok was "rejoicing" together with me...
Though it was only a $10 note, yet the fact that I have lost it and found it again in my pocket really made me glad. The $10 was always with me, just that it was lost and needed to be found by me.
Believe the One who will know best the emotions of having lost and found would be God.
In Luke 15:24, the account of the prodigal son, the father rejoiced when his greedy and ungrateful son returned home, filled with remorse after having spent every cent of his inheritance. Yet, the father's response upon seeing this son:
" for this my son was dead and alive again; he was lost and is found." And they began to be merry."
If I can rejoice over a mere $10 note, what more God when we, His children turn to Him in repentance. How ungrateful we have been, yet how patient and loving He has always and will always be.
I was lost but now am found. Bible also says that when one repents, all the heavens rejoice. When I first received Christ, I was glad and touched by the love of my heavenly Father, His unconditional love and grace poured upon me. Yet, the One who rejoiced the most, the one who weeps in joy whenever His child finds the way home, has to be my Father, for to Him, I was lost but now am found. I'm His long-awaited prodigal child. =)

YOU
Hebrews 5:8-9:
"... though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him."
Jesus you set the example for us, because of You, I know that I need not squirm in fear nor wallow in the pool of self pity when I'm going through tough times and disappointments. You, of all people chose to come in such great humility, you went through much suffering and heartaches when the closest to You chose to betray and shun you at the most crucial moment. You were rejected yet You never once thought of giving up on us, men. You loved and gave Your all, You suffered just so that I can be reconciled.
Because of what You've done, I can face life's challenges with boldness, knowing that at the end of it all, I'll be perfected to be more like You.
"...we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose.." (Romans 8:28,29)
Sufferings are part and parcel of life on this earth, though these are not caused by You, yet You were always made to bear the blame. How easy it is to always pin point our finger at God whenever things go wrong, or happen in ways contrary to our plans.
This is His promise, that as we turn to Him and trust in Him, God promises to make the best out of all things, moulding, guiding and helping us through every step and phase in life.
Jesus never promised that life will be a bed of roses when we believe in Him, but what He did promise is that He will walk alongside us and face life's circumstances with and for us, and that He is able to turn around adverse situations and work the best out for us!
"...that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)
=) I can walk my life out in confidence, in full confidence of He who is leading my every step; Jesus, the One who has set the perfect example for me to follow. Though I may not understand many things, but one thing I do, no one and nothing can ever take the place of You Lord in my life, and no one loves me as You do, accepts me for who I am. You're the best treasure and gift that I have and will ever receive! Jesus, You reign!!
