One can only stand amazed at the splendor of our God...

Many marvel at the beauty of nature, yet fail to see the One who created these awesome masterpieces. Humbled and honored yet again...

Happy Parents' Day!!

VIPs for the evening

We celebrated Parents' Day (combination of Father and Mother's day) at Pu Tien restaurant last night. We went for the ala carte buffet outlet at City Square Mall and it was overall a good experience!
I have been looking forward to eating at Pu Tien ever since Mok 'boasted to me on how awesome the food was when he dined there during an office function. As usual, he is the one who gets to dine at all this fabulous places... and I am kind of a beneficiary as he would often end up bringing me to these places too! =p
Pu Tien restaurant which serves Heng Hwa food is one of them. The outlet at City Square is the only one that offers ala carte buffet. To be frank, the dishes were not cooked or served in a spectacular manner. In fact, the dishes available were rather normal, such as, fried bee hoon, egg beancurd with brocolli, garlic prawns, whole steamed / fried fish ... etc. But what made the food awesome was that they reminded me of 'Home'- 家的感觉. A perfect venue to thank our parents for their years of love and sacrifices shown toward us.

As usual, we were too eager to eat and forgot to take picture of the food! -_-

Managed to snapped some pictures towards the end of the dinner:

This dish, nicknamed 'mermaid' was recommended to us by our friendly server, aunty Jessie! Fragrantly fried with garlic...

The must tries: The Heng Hwa fried bee hoon, stir-fried yam bits (most of our favourite! Its soft on the inside, caramelized sweet and slightly crispy on the outside! feel like eating it again!), crab meat with salted egg...etc

Mum's all-time favourite: Anything with yam!
Sesame Mochi... ZAI!!
Give us the widest grin guys!
大哥大嫂... looking forward to yr wedding in Oct!
Larry filling up the lucky draw formS dilligently, thanks to aunty Jessie who gave us a ton of forms
Huat ah! Just realised that the prizes are hampers of Lee Jin Ji sauces... huh?
Here's our family!!!

Arrival of Arielle Faith Huang on 11th June 2010!!

Introducing Princess Arielle!!

Congrats to Roy and Su on the arrival of their little princess, Arielle Faith! Though it was a rather rough journey for the both of them, we all rejoice at the birth of this healthy and beautiful baby gal!
Being a mummy is really not easy and I just want to salute Su for all the sacrifice that she has gone through to carry Arielle to full term! 妈妈的爱是最伟大地!!

The very proud daddy & mummy
Me, Arielle and the Chong family! Totally random!
Us and the newly upgraded mummy! Well done Su!
Hmmm... though we feel that she does take after Roy quite a fair bit but no worries!!... cos she is simply beautiful!! =p

Thoughtfulness and love...

It's really amazing how therapeutic it can be when you spend time with people whom you love, how such moments, regardless of the length of time, is able to change one's mood and perspective.

Last weekend was a rather gloomy one for me (and most of my colleagues, I guess). We had to work over the entire weekend. In short, the weekend seemed -_- to me.

However, Mr Mok decided that he would bring me to some of the nice restaurants after work. I was always envious of the nice food and places that he gets to go due to corporate functions and luncheons. And tada! The weekend came when he decides to treat me to some good and yummy food!!

Saturday dinner's menu: Japanese food @ a restaurant in the Singapore Flyer!! It was supposed to be an ala carte buffet spread! But alas, there was apparently an event taking place at the Flyers as we saw fire works along the way and the carpark was jam packed!
There were like 10+ cars ahead of us and the queue was not progressing at a reasonable rate and it was coming 8pm... so... we left, and of course I was disappointed. We proceeded to Orchard Central and went to a few jap places but they were all packed too. It was like SIANZZZZ!!!

I was showing Mok a rather black face already (haha... poor Mok) when we passed by this Korean BBQ place and the smell that was coming from within was like ... yumyumyum!!!
So we decided to change the menu for the day to Korean instead, and it was a choice that neither of us regret!!

We ordered a seafood and meat platter and a stuffed rice herbal ginseng chicken soup. The sides that came along with the meals were so lavish and appetizing. The soup was good and the meat was awesome! The beef and pork ribs were tender and juicy and the marination sauce was splendid!

Thoroughly enjoyed the starters and the appetizers

The seafood and meat platter

The service there was excellent too. Though I was really tired after dinner (esp since we were both feeling too full from the meal), but I was so filled GLADNESS! So thankful for Mokky! =)
Strongly recommend all to try: Hangari Galbi, Orchard Central level 8. Think it would be better to go with a group of 4 as the food was slightly too much for the 2 of us.

The next day, the treat continues!
Mok brought me to Casa Verde, a alfresco restaurant located at the botanic garden for late lunch (after work).
The atmosphere was therapeutic. Families, tourists, couples, pet lovers with their pets...etc all just chilling over food and drinks. The sound made by the man-made water features had a soothing effect.
We decided that the botanics is quite an ideal place for us to go for a jog, followed by breakfast at Casa Verde! Hopefully it'll materialize soon!

Mok and I were determined to detox and eat light on Monday. We met my parents and bro for dinner and my mum prepared NASI LEMAK!! Haha.. so much for detox! But it was yummy n the fellowship was great.

So feeling down and frustrated with certain things at work? Make a date with the one(s) you love and simply chill out! You might be surprised at how your perspective changes as you experience warmth and a touch of love! =)
