It's really amazing how therapeutic it can be when you spend time with people whom you love, how such moments, regardless of the length of time, is able to change one's mood and perspective.
Last weekend was a rather gloomy one for me (and most of my colleagues, I guess). We had to work over the entire weekend. In short, the weekend seemed -_- to me.
However, Mr Mok decided that he would bring me to some of the nice restaurants after work. I was always envious of the nice food and places that he gets to go due to corporate functions and luncheons. And tada! The weekend came when he decides to treat me to some good and yummy food!!
Saturday dinner's menu: Japanese food @ a restaurant in the Singapore Flyer!! It was supposed to be an ala carte buffet spread! But alas, there was apparently an event taking place at the Flyers as we saw fire works along the way and the carpark was jam packed!
There were like 10+ cars ahead of us and the queue was not progressing at a reasonable rate and it was coming 8pm... so... we left, and of course I was disappointed. We proceeded to Orchard Central and went to a few jap places but they were all packed too. It was like SIANZZZZ!!!
I was showing Mok a rather black face already (haha... poor Mok) when we passed by this Korean BBQ place and the smell that was coming from within was like ... yumyumyum!!!
So we decided to change the menu for the day to Korean instead, and it was a choice that neither of us regret!!
We ordered a seafood and meat platter and a stuffed rice herbal ginseng chicken soup. The sides that came along with the meals were so lavish and appetizing. The soup was good and the meat was awesome! The beef and pork ribs were tender and juicy and the marination sauce was splendid!
Thoroughly enjoyed the starters and the appetizers

The seafood and meat platter

The service there was excellent too. Though I was really tired after dinner (esp since we were both feeling too full from the meal), but I was so filled GLADNESS! So thankful for Mokky! =)
Strongly recommend all to try: Hangari Galbi, Orchard Central level 8. Think it would be better to go with a group of 4 as the food was slightly too much for the 2 of us.
The next day, the treat continues!
Mok brought me to Casa Verde, a alfresco restaurant located at the botanic garden for late lunch (after work).
The atmosphere was therapeutic. Families, tourists, couples, pet lovers with their pets...etc all just chilling over food and drinks. The sound made by the man-made water features had a soothing effect.
We decided that the botanics is quite an ideal place for us to go for a jog, followed by breakfast at Casa Verde! Hopefully it'll materialize soon!
Mok and I were determined to detox and eat light on Monday. We met my parents and bro for dinner and my mum prepared NASI LEMAK!! Haha.. so much for detox! But it was yummy n the fellowship was great.
So feeling down and frustrated with certain things at work? Make a date with the one(s) you love and simply chill out! You might be surprised at how your perspective changes as you experience warmth and a touch of love! =)
