GOODBYE 2009 & WELCOME 2010!!

It is time to say goodbye to the year 2009!!
It was indeed an eventful year for me.
2009: a year of getting accustomed to married life- which has been fun and simply awesome!!; transited to new workplace; adapted to new house at serangoon north; and did lots of traveling - we traveled to 5 different places (Aust, Bkk, Phuket, HK and Bintan) within 09!! =)
Thank God that though it was a tough economic and financial year, His blessings and providence has brought us to green pastures.

We had lots of celebrations and gathering to mark off the end of 2009, and the most important event had to be our 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION!! Happy 1 year to both of us!!!
Thank God for seeing us through a year and of course for the many more years to come. It only seemed like a few months back that we were preparing for our big day, yet it also seems like we have been married for much longer than a year. Marriage life is all about giving. And though it might seem like many sacrifices and changes need to be made as 2 different individuals with 2 totally different background and past experiences come together, giving is made easier when the relationship is constantly being watered with love and thoughtfulness. To give without expecting to receive, yet because both parties adopt the same mentality, so often and not, both parties receive much too! Really would like to thank Mok for all the patience, sacrifices, love and fun that he has brought into my life... you are simply awesome Mr Mok! =) Looking forward to the journey ahead of us.
And thanks to Mok's secret planning, we managed to spend our 1 year anniversary at Bintan Resort!! It was my first trip to Bintan, and the conclusion is, there is really nothing much to do there. Haha, but this worked for us as we had lots of time to recuperate and sleep; did a mini family retreat for 2010 plans and we watched lotsa downloaded anime!=p
Think all singaporeans should have such a trip at least once a year, where we are forced to slow down and just chill out and be refreshed. Splendid!

End of 2009 highlights:

31st Dec 09 gathering at Shin's place

Dinner at Shin's went great and it was a good time of catching up with friends, especially for Mok. Realised I failed to take any pictures with the group as my sole focus was on our VIP for the night... Scottie!! He is superly handsome, and is such a responsive and fun baby... simply adorable!
Another highlight of the night was this boardgame that Shawn introduced to us, called Scotland Yard. It is a detective and murderer game. Game was really engaging and we played till 3am! Well done folks that we managed to tong till 3am... considered quite a feat nowadays!!

... so with this, it's a Happy 2010 to all!!!

I have not forgotten...

"I have not forgotten..."
This was the constant reminder that He gave me as I was praying just now.
Though only 4 simple words, but the significance of these words weighed way much more.

"I have not forgotten": so be confident for I am your hope and the help of your countenance (Psalm 42);
"I have not forgotten": the day where I breathed upon you My passion and desire (and my plans still stays till today for I have not forgotten);
"I have not forgotten": so no matter how the paths ahead seem to differ and split, know that I am and will always walk beside you, leading you with My hands.

I am left in awe.
Thank you Lord that I am never forgotten for Your eyes are always upon me.
Your love never fails.

Hello Phuket!!

CAN'T WAIT TO SET FOOT INTO PHUKET!!
Indulge in a few glasses of ice cold cha yen (thai iced milk tea), kafei yen (thai iced coffee), thai food, jap food...etc... Gonna enjoy the sun, the sea, the chill out sessions on the beach, the sea cave canoeing adventure and our non-stop MJ sessions. hohoho..

Guess my crave for such indulgences is magnified due to my last episode of food poisoning (yes again!). I'm just gonna ditch the plain porridge with preserved cai xin and go for my awesome treats in Phuket!!
Soooo.. Phuket here I come!!
Singapore, don't miss me!!

Stirring within

""My food," said Jesus, "is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work.""
Was reminded of John 4:34 today. This verse was my intense heart's cry some years back. Still remember myself praying over this verse time and time again.
Yet somehow, I have allowed the essence of this verse to slip past me for a while.

Can't help but ask God as I feel this verse stirring up within me once again.. "What's my food? What am I supposed to finish? Have I even started / where do I start from?"

Time and time through the years, He would remind me of the vision and dream He had birthed within me since I was in my early teens. The call to serve Him, to offer my life to Him and to proclaim His Good News and love to those across borders. And somehow, I know that this dream would come to pass... though I don't see how it would happen as of now yet.

Now is a training and preparation season for me. Am still bombarded with thoughts like, "God, did I make a wrong move?", "Have you forgotten me?".
Yet, He never fails to assure me of His eyes that are always watching over me, His gaze that has never left me.
I know that God is giving me the opportunity to fulfill and experience what I have always hoped to do and I wanna be faithful and be a blessing in where I am now, till He unveils the next step.

God, let John 4:34 stir within me and help me to press in deeper into your Presence. May I be used as Your vessel, to bring love, compassion and healing to those whom you bring into my path.

Consuming Fire
There must be more than this
O breath of God come breathe within
There must be more than this
Spirit of God we wait for You

Fill us anew we pray
Fill us anew we pray

Consuming fire fan into flame
A passion for Your Name
Spirit of God fall in this place
Lord have Your way
Lord have Your way with us

Stir it up in our hearts Lord
Stir it up in our hearts Lord
Stir it up in our hearts Lord
A passion for Your Name
