Pizza Bizarre!!

My mum passed me some pizza hut coupons and mister mok and I decided to use them over the weekend. Excitedly, we ordered for 2 pizzas and 2 garlic bread (coupon onli comes in pair) and we waited in anticipation for our hot and piping pizzas to arrive. I was quite curious to see how the "Hot" sticker detector works. 35 mins later, the delivery man arrived, only to tell us that they had missed out 1 pizza and of all, it had to be our fav hawaiian pizza!
He promised to get his colleague to send over our pizza asap. And he was so panicky that he forgot to stick the "Hot" sticker on our pizza box. Anyway, we were feeling too ".........." to even bother abt it.
I mean, don't they check the goods out before delivery? At least count that the no. of items tally?

Anyway, the 2nd episode was even more bizarre...
When our missing pizza arrived, Mister Mok double checked with the man that it was a hawaiian pizza, and the man confidently confirmed by putting the "hot" sticker onto the box. And guess what!! The hawaiian pizza turned out to be 10 piece honey roasted drumlets!!!!! OMGosh... we totally wanted to faint.
The man was fortunate that Mister Mok was in an unusually good good mood that day and he calmly called the previous delivery man and asked for our long-awaited HAWAIIAN PIZZA!!!

20 mins later.... the pizza finally arrived!! (and the man still forgot to put the HOT sticker)... I was kinda full by then but the pizza still tasted good.
And the best thing is.... we get to keep the 10 drumlets for free!! Woohooo.... a blessing in disguise... (We were deciding between the drumlets and the garlic bread but chose the later instead) haha... we ended up with both for the price of 1....
Just find the entire episode really bizarre and am amazed at the boo boos that happened. And I didn't get to receive any certified 'HOT' pizzas!!! Only hot drumlets.

Conclusion for all delivery services: PLS check the orders first before sending them out for delivery!!!

XiaoBai is coming home tdy!!

Hurray!! XiaoBai is coming home tdy!! We sent him to the workshop on thurs, to get him fixed up due to a very minor accident sometime back. And I have grown to appreciate Xiaobai (our wonderful white honda jazz) over the past few days. Going to work has been horrendous, having to try to get on the bus during the peak hour is crazy. Day 1 was the worst! Though I have 3 buses to take to work fr home, I couldn get into any of them, and had to 'miss' like 4 of them b4 I could barely squeeze up the 5th one. Got to office rather late that day.... set off earlier the next day, and still couldn't get into the 1st few!! Was soooo frustrated on thurs and had to get myself to cool and settle down when I reached office.

Disclaimer: I'm not spoilt... and am totally alright with going public.. just that these experiences have caused me to really appreciate xiaobai and of course, the wonderful owner too! Journey to work is so much more pleasurable because of both of u! Have kinda taken the rides from mister mok for granted... =) Thanks dear!!

Welcome back Xiao-Bai!! =)

Fly Fly Away

Went to 85 to celebrate grandma's birthday this evening. It's always enjoyable and fun to go for such gatherings with my relatives and cousins... really thankful for such wonderful family members as I know that not many families have such close knitted ties like we do.

Anyway, I was talking to mabel and belinda and I realised, to my horror that Mabel is already in Sec 1 and Belinda, Sec 3!!! OMGosh!!! (Ok, there's nothing wrong with them being in Sec sch, just that..) I'm still thinking that they're in primary school...!! How time flies....!! Sec 3!!!
It's so easy to lose count of time and the progression that ppl ard us are making. I mean.. Mabel and Belinda who used to stay at our place over the weekends so as to join us for church service... they were P1 and P3 when they first joined us and now, they're already in Sec sch. I feel so ashamed of myself!!!

I think it's kinda scary... how fast time flies... and is flying away and how easy it is for us to miss/ forget ppl whom we hold dear, just because we're so consumed with living our own lives. Now, as I'm typing, I vaguely remember my mum telling me abt Mabel's PSLE results n stuff some time back... but I didn't really bother to take much notice / show much interest then.

It's really not that difficult to keep sturdy the relationships with friends and colleagues that we see everyday / often... yet, when a colleagues leaves, or when a church mate cease attending church for a period of time... how many of us actually realise and bother to show concern and/or to keep in contact with the person? Not many bother I guess... cos we're all too busy... too consumed with our own stuff and world... Still remember that there were a couple of times, over the years when I couldn't make it for church service for various reasons, and I would often wonder why no one would text or call, asking why I weren't in church. Not that I'm seeking attention, but just that it'll be really nice to know that someone actually noticed and bothered to contact me because I was not there.

A sharp reminder for me today... to cherish the friendships and ppl ard me...I can't stop time from flying away... but I sure have the ability to show more interest and concern to ppl ard me. I guess, this might be the tip of the ice berg of what Jesus meant when He commanded us to love our neighbour as we love ourselves. To love requires more than words... it requires our actions and efforts.

Haha.. seems like a serious toned reflection for such a fun and joyous dinner event...but I think it's a good and timely reminder...

3Gs

Had office staff meeting sometime last week and P. Bea ended off the meeting with a short sharing from the Bible. Served as a great reminder and had a refreshing time in God's presence.

She shared about the 3 Gs... she was speaking in context to God's providence.
1. Grace
She referred to Luke 7:37, the familar passage on the sinful woman with her alabaster jar. This woman, described in the Bible as a woman who had lived a sinful life, and apparently also labelled as one by her town neighbours. Yet she was the one who was bold enough to barge into the house of a pharisee, interrupt a dinner gathering, rush to Jesus' feet and honor His feet with her jar of precious perfume.

This woman recognised God's grace upon her life.
The awareness of God's grace and His love for her despite her sinfulness had lifted her to seek and reach out for God Hmself, counting all else as secondary! (Her pride- being ridiculed by others, possession- her costly perfume... etc)

Just how aware are we of the magnitude of God's grace and love upon us? The Pharisee on the other hand was totaly oblivious to the grace and awesomeness of God. He had Jesus in his house for dinner, yet Jesus mentioned that he did not even give any water for Jesus to clean His feet. Instead of focusing on the important guest whom he had invited home for dinner, this man had focused on criticising and condemning the woman. He missed the point.

2) Gratitude

We are to be grateful and acknowledge God's blessings and goodness in our lives. Luke 17, as with the 10 lepers. As they cried out to Jesus to be healed, Jesus proclaimed them healed and told them to show themselves to the priests. And all 10 of them were healed as they were on their way. Yet in v15, we see that, out of the 10 who received God's healing and grace, only 1... only 1 man! remembered return and give praise to the One who healed them . A Samaritan (foreigner) to be specific.

P. Bea said something that hit me. None of the Jews bothered to return in thanksgiving because they had the mentality that God owed them the healing because they were God's chosen ones. How often have i acted like the Jews, thinking that God owe me my wishes, my calling, that He owe me to forgive me and how often have i taken His tremendous blessings and favor as a norm that is due to me! God owes us nothing! But out of the riches of His mercy and great love... He reaches out to us and blesses us!
Never kick gratitude out of the door!

And lastly, adopt:

3) Generousity

We are not just called to give! But we are all the more to give as we have received. Not called to be reservoirs but rivers for God's life and water to flow through.

Somehow, this sharing really spoke to my heart. Think I have somehow taken God's grace for granted. It's so easy being consumed by my own stuff that I forget about the most important Person in my life, treating God as a Grace dispensing machine.
PTL for His timely reminder.
Mr Mok shared too that he was reminded during worship service at how easy it is for us to pay lip service to God. We proclaim that we love God and trust Him but yet our heart might be far away. Is our mouth nearer to God than our heart? May that never be so...cos God deserves so much more than this.
