Week 2

Time seems to fly in the Probation office, I am coming to the end of week 2 orientation in my new job! 1 more week to go before official orientation ends!!
Am still learning to take everything in, learning curve here is very steep but it has been a great exposure and eye opener, to see how my seniors handle their cases, to hear about the various cases, going to court and stuff.
Other than the busyness and stress, the working environment here is nice, reminds me a little of my HP days back then.
I have a great mentor buddy.. think she's really zai! and cute too... =)

Went to see a case with my senior yest, was a serious offence but during the process of drilling and investigating, I found my heart becoming soft, and I so badly wanted to give the boy the benefit of doubt.
But as there's a chinese saying that goes: "Jiang Hai Shi lao De La". My senior didn't fall into his trick (after seeing so many cases b4) and managed to get some truth out of him.
Was evaluating aft yest, how am I to balance compassion and skepticism here? Really need God's wisdom and discernment!

I need to go shopping real bad!! Need more office wear and pants in my closet! And shoes, and bags... haha... hmmm...seems like I need to get everything... woohooo...

MYTH EXPOSED

Didn't know since when and from whom did I get the impression that birds wouldn't chirp when it's about to rain.
Wanted to go for a jog yesterday evening and noticed that the sky, esp over the jogging area was rather dark. It looked like it was going to rain, but then I heard a bird chirping super loudly, and I thought, well, since bird chirps, it won't rain.
So I happily put on my socks and told my mum that I was going for a jog, and she warned me once again of the dark sky.
When I told her my belief, she simply laughed and refuted asking: Since when was it proven that birds don't chirp during rainy days?!
I paused for a moment and ponder, yah hor, since when did I have that idea?

I checked out the sky once again and decided that I shall not risk and concluded that it was more suited to nuah than to exercise during such weather. So I removed my socks and..... true enough, it poured heavily 15 mins later!
Would have been drenched and stuck in the rain had I went jogging.

Myth exposed: Birds just chirp whenever they want to, whether it's gonna rain or not.
Thank God for mummy. hee..

IMPULSIVE BUYING MOOD

Am in my impulsive buying mood today.
Bought a pair of heels during the 15 min spare time that I had during lunch break. Almost bought 2 pairs but I still managed to practise some self control still.
It's a beautiful white based pair of heels, and yes, there was a constant reminder that I already have quite a no. of white based heels but guess it didn't work.
And of course, I was at the shoe shop because I was looking for a BROWN pair of heels... and ... ...
Doesn't help too that the heels would potentially be a little loose in time to come, but at least it won't give me blisters. A size smaller would be a little too tight! arrggg... can't stand my not- here- not- there feet size!!

So why didn't I go to another branch of the shop to try 1 size smaller? Cos I'm in a IMPULSIVE BUYING MOOD today!!!

must be the weather... ... ...

Sweet overwhelm

The month of Feb and March 08' have left me overwhelmed and filled with thanksgiving for God!

First it was a confirmation of what I have been receiving from God with regards to my ministry change as I began praying since Sept last year.
There was a prompting in me to start praying for what's to come for my ministry and job since Aug/ Sept last year, and most of what I received whenever I prayed were, "Feb 08'" and that the "year of 2008' would be a year of transition" for me.

The last quarter of 07' was really tough for me as I grappled with the mixed emotions I had, to leave or not. And what's next to come? So many times, I wanted to hear more from God, like give me a definite yes or no, or show me immediately what's to come. But all I received was that a clearer answer would come in Feb 08'.
Meanwhile, a desire to return to the marketplace and to reach out to the lost was stirring within me. And it was especially directed towards the delinquent youths.
I was like, "sure anot?" and I couldn't make sense of it all until.....
..... Feb came, before I even realised it, everything came into place, and His voice got clearer and clearer.

It was a time of learning for me. Many times when I was getting all confused about my decision to leave or stay, with many voices telling me what to do, His assurance and instruction was always so loud and clear: "Listen and take heed to My guidance and direction and follow My promptings. You know My voice, so follow it."

So, I'll be starting my new job in 1.5 weeks time. 1st April!! Haven't really preped myself yet, but I know that His grace will be sufficient for me and He'll provide!

Secondly, I got the sweetest surprise ever. Larry and myself got engaged on the 3rd of March 08'. He proposed at the airport, once he touched down from HK, something that I never ever thought would happen to me! Feels like something that would only happen in the movies! But yes, he did it...at the airport... =)

Everything just happened so quickly and I'm moving to another season of my life. I can only give thanks to God and testify of the goodness and faithfulness of God.
Though we might not see or comprehend what lies ahead, but the One who is the Beginning and the End does.
And He reveals at His timing and is faithful and true to accomplish all that He has promised to us.
Our part is to draw near, pray and hold fast to His word and promise, and allow Him to work for us.

I worship the true and living God!!

Strength!!

"He who keeps instruction is in the way of life,
But he who refuses correction goes astray."
(Proverbs 10:17)
"The way of the Lord is strength for the upright..."
(Proverbs 10:29)
The way of life is found by those who seek and who chooses to heed the instruction of the Lord, and as we heed His word, He not only imparts wisdom and light, but with His word comes the strength to carry on.
The strength to press on and press in to walk out life on earth. The strength to go through trials and challenges and not be fainthearted, the strength to obey, the strength to withstand the doubts and fiery darts that comes your way as you ponder if you are walking in the right direction.
When we choose to keep walking in the way of the Lord, there's the divine impartation of strength, the strengthening of our inner man. PTL!!!
So never stop hearing and never quit walking in the way of the Lord, and obey as He instructs for they are life to those who find them and health to all their flesh. (Proverbs 4:22)
